Kathie Sowell | SowellEAC’s founder is Kathie Sowell, who has over 25 years of experience in the practice of Enterprise Architecture and related disciplines. She is best known as the principal author of the Department of Defense’s original architecture framework, now known as the DODAF (DoD Architecture Framework); a former Director of the Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification (FEAC) Institute; and a practical, down-to-earth teacher and mentor to enterprise architects. Ms. Sowell developed the curriculum for the Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification (FEAC) Institute, associated with California State University, and for five years served as a Division Director and senior faculty member. Ms. Sowell developed an Enterprise Architecture curriculum for the MITRE Institute and served as its principal faculty member. In her SowellEAC program, Ms. Sowell provides instruction leading to Certification as an enterprise architect through National-Louis University. |  Clive Finkelstein | Clive Finkelstein is acknowledged worldwide as the "Father" of Information Engineering, and is Managing Director of Information Engineering Services Pty Ltd in Australia. He has over 46 years' experience in the Computer Industry. He has published many books and papers, and contributed Chapters and Forewords to books published by McGraw-Hill and Springer-Verlag.
Clive Finkelstein is an internationally renowned consultant and instructor, and has completed projects for Defense, Government and Commercial organizations throughout the world and in most industries. The emphasis of these projects has been to bridge from strategic business plans to information systems, so aligning systems closely with corporate goals.
His application of these methods in large and medium Government, Defense and Commercial enterprises results in Business Transformation Enablement, so that business and IT managers and their staffs can plan for and achieve rapid business change. Enterprise Architecture provides a Governance Analysis Framework that supports Sarbanes-Oxley and other Governance Audit requirements. It provides direct support and linkage to Balanced Scorecard for Strategy-Focused Organizations, to ensure that IT systems and databases support defined scorecard strategies and governance requirements for Enterprise Architecture maturity.
Clive gained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961 from the University of New South Wales in Sydney. He has been a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society since 1972 and was inducted into the Pearcey Hall of Fame in Australia in 2008. |  Martin van den Berg | Martin van den Berg is Architecture Service Line Manager at Sogeti Nederland B.V. In this role he is responsible for the development of architecture services and expertise in Sogeti. Additionally he provides guidance to organizations in the professionalization of Enterprise Architecture and the implementation of Service Oriented Architecture. He was involved in Enterprise Architecture engagements in companies like ABN AMRO, ING, Fortis and Shell. Martin is one of the founders of DYA (Dynamic Architecture) and co-author of the books “Dynamic Enterprise Architecture, How to make it work”, “Building an Enterprise Architecture Practice” and “SOA for Profit”. Martin is chairman of the Architecture Section of the Dutch Computer Society, teacher of the Masterclass Architecture at Pro Education, teacher Enterprise Architecture at Delft Top Tech, member of the Editorial Board of the Sogeti IT Journal, delegate to the Architecture Forum of the Open Group and member of the Programme Board of the annual dutch architecture conference (LAC2009). Martin wrote a lot of articles on Enterprise Architecture and Service Oriented Architecture. He was a speaker on Open Group conferences, Butlergroup Masterclasses and many other conferences on EA and SOA. Martin studied Business Economics (Tilburg University) and has a masters degree in Logistics Management (Tilburg University). |  Kenneth Griesi | Kenneth Griesi, M.S., is the Chief Architect of a multi-billion dollar U.S. Navy Program where his responsibilities include shaping the U.S. Department of Defense’s Enterprise Services. He is an employee of the MITRE Corporation (a Federally Funded Research & Development Center) in San Diego. He has several years of experience performing Enterprise Architecting and System Engineering related to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) initiatives, spacelift & range systems, homeland security initiatives, and several research & development efforts.
Mr. Griesi is a strong advocate for both the academic advancement and practical application of the Enterprise Architecting discipline. He was instrumental in structuring the Architecting curriculum at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and teaches Enterprise Architecting courses as an Adjunct Professor at UCSD, Senior Staff member of the Federal Enterprise Architecture Certification (FEAC) Institute, and speaker at International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) events. He is also a published author, holds several professional certifications (C.E.A., L.Z.A., etc), and is a recognized leader in the fields of Enterprise Architecting and Systems Engineering. |  Jaap Schekkerman | Jaap Schekkerman, (1953) is an international recognised Thought Leader in the areas of Business Technology Strategy, Enterprise Architecture & Services Orientation and the Founder and President of the ‘Institute For Enterprise Architecture Developments’ (IFEAD) the Netherlands (2001).
Mr. Schekkerman is managing IFEAD besides his Management Consulting and Enterprise Architecture Thought Leader activities for Logica Management Consulting.
Mr. Schekkerman is working for more than 35 years in the Business, IT & Consultants world and has more than 25 years experience in managing complex and large enterprise architecture programs in the Defence World, the Governmental area, Healthcare, Travel Industry and High Tech Industry.
Mr. Schekkerman is giving lectures on Information Management, Enterprise Architecture and Service Orientation at different Universities and Institutes for Higher Professional Education.
Mr. Schekkerman has published more than 45 articles and he is author / co-author of more then 10 books on topics related to Enterprise Architecture & Enterprise Value Management. He is a frequently invited and highly appreciated speaker on national and international congresses and symposia. | Beryl Bellman, PhD
| Dr. Bellman is co-founder and Academic Director of the FEAC Institute and is also a tenured full Professor of Communication Studies at California State University at Los Angeles. He has been involved in teaching, research; publishing, consulting and project management in the fields of Enterprise Architecture, Knowledge Management, Organizational Communications/Behavior and distributed e-Learning for some forty years, and has an excellent reputation in both academe and professional consulting. He held faculty and research positions at the University of California at San Diego, SUNY Stonybrook, CUNY Graduate Center and California Institute of the Arts, and was Research Director of the Western Behavioral Sciences Institute prior to his current university position. In addition to academic positions he has twenty plus years concurrent consulting experience in both government and the private sectors, and has been a Principal Consultant and Project Manager with three major Enterprise Architecture consulting and tool vendor companies. He has consulted in Enterprise Architecture related programs in the public sector for the DoD, Departments of Agriculture, Forest Service, Energy, Justice/INS and the Whitehouse for the Executive Office of the President as well as was a contract consultant for NCR, AT&T, ASK, RAND and Digital Equipment Corporation - working for their internal and external customers. This included doing EA in the aerospace, financial, banking, pharmaceutical, entertainment and manufacturing sectors. He has published several books and over ninety articles. He is a frequent presenter at national and international professional and academic conferences. |  Plamen Petrov | Plamen Petrov is an experienced enterprise architect, software systems practitioner, educator, and information technology executive. Mr. Petrov currently works at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) where he serves as Chief Enterprise Architect and Executive Director of Architecture. In his role Mr. Petrov is responsible for the overall enterprise architecture at BCBSA as well to work closely with his peer enterprise architects at the 39 independent BCBS licensee companies in support of the overall Inter-Plan business-to-business architecture. Additionally, Plamen Petrov serves as an adjunct professor with the Computer Science Department at Loyola University Chicago where he regularly teaches among other classes the course “Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance”. Plamen Petrov is also an invited speaker at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Northwestern University on the topics of Business Process Management, Enterprise Architecture, and Corporate Innovation. Mr. Petrov has over 20 years experience in the areas of information technology, enterprise architecture, software engineering and architecture, technology management, and software research and development. His most recent experience has been in the fields of health insurance and healthcare technologies. Mr. Petrov has extensive experience in the areas of software systems, high availability computing, networks and communications, artificial intelligence, data warehouses and business intelligence. Mr. Petrov has successfully designed and implemented systems, lead large scale projects, performed applied research in diverse industries and fields like cybernetics, transportation, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, computer clustering, airline industry, and health insurance. Previous to Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Mr. Petrov has held senior technical and architecture positions at companies such as United Airlines, Sun Microsystems, Motorola, and Convergys. Mr. Petrov holds degrees and has done undergraduate and advanced graduate studies in computer engineering, computer science and engineering management from Sofia Technical University, Loyola University Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, and Northwestern University. Brian Cameron, PhD | Brian Cameron is Professor of Practice and Director of the Enterprise Architecture Initiative in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at the Pennsylvania State University. Within the College of Information Sciences and Technology, he works with a wide portfolio of companies on a variety of consulting engagements, ranging from systems integration projects to enterprise architecture planning and design. Through his academic work, Cameron has consulted with organizations such as Avaya, AT&T Wireless, Raytheon, Accenture, Oracle, EMC Corp., NSA, U.S. Marine Corps, The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and many others. Cameron has his Ph.D. and MBA in Finance and MIS from Penn State and a BS in Computer Science. His primary research and consulting interests include enterprise architecture, enterprise systems integration, information management and storage, and the use of simulations and gaming in education. The main focus areas for his teaching efforts are on senior-level capstone enterprise integration, enterprise architecture, and information technology consulting & storage architecture courses. Dr. Cameron is currently developing new curricular materials for enterprise integration (through funding from NSF) including a textbook to be published by Wiley & Sons Publishing. He has also designed and taught executive education sessions for senior IT executives. Session topics include Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Business Process Management (BPM), Strategic Alignment of IT & Business Strategies, IT Governance, and IT Portfolio Management. Dr. Cameron currently leads corporately funded research efforts in the following areas: service-oriented architecture and business process modeling, risk analysis and management of enterprise systems integration projects, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation best practices, enterprise storage & information management architecture design, and performance measurement for Enterprise Architecture.

Alex Z. Pettit | Alex completed undergraduate coursework at the University of Wisconsin at Parkside and received an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago. He is currently working toward completion of a PhD in Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at the University of North Texas. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society and teaches classes at the University of North Texas in the areas of Technology Survival Planning, Enterprise Architecture, and Crisis Leadership.
He has directed both industry and consulting organizations in diverse roles as a Chief Technology Officer, Senior Manager and BCP Service Line Leader, and Regional Director of Technology and Telecommunications. Alex has received the Best of Texas Award for IT Leadership, the Public Technology Institute IT Leadership Award, and the Society for Information Management IT Executive of the Year Award for his leadership.
Alex joined Marsh in 2007 as a consultant for Business Continuity and Crisis Risk consulting services. He is responsible for designing and delivering customized solutions in the areas of BCP strategy & vision, BCP/DRP program viability assessment, operational impact and risk analysis, BCP/DRP plan design & alignment with crisis response and disaster containment, mission-critical process continuity, disaster recovery, & business resumption planning, BCP/DRP program testing & deployment, event communications modeling, organizational awareness & training, executive crisis support and succession planning, and the proactive preparation of people to effectively survive through and recover from a major crisis event. |
